The government has published two new guidance documents for employers relating to recruitment. The first guidance document provides information for employers who will be recruiting, and the content includes:

  • sources of information and support, e.g. Jobcentre Plus, Access to Work and the “Advertise a job” service
  • remote interviewing – tips for virtual recruiting and onboarding
  • transferable skills. 

The second document offers guidance, case studies and information about how employers can attract, recruit and retain workers from a variety of backgrounds to enhance their business. The content includes:

  • the benefits of a diverse workforce
  • career break returners
  • Disability Confident
  • homeless people
  • older workers
  • people recovering from drug and alcohol misuse
  • ex-offenders
  • maintaining mental wellbeing when working from home
  • tips for recruiting
  • supporting health and wellbeing.
