Recruitment guidance for employers

The government has published two new guidance documents for employers relating to recruitment. The first guidance document provides information for employers who will be recruiting, and the content includes:
- sources of information and support, e.g. Jobcentre Plus, Access to Work and the “Advertise a job” service
- remote interviewing – tips for virtual recruiting and onboarding
- transferable skills.
The second document offers guidance, case studies and information about how employers can attract, recruit and retain workers from a variety of backgrounds to enhance their business. The content includes:
- the benefits of a diverse workforce
- career break returners
- Disability Confident
- homeless people
- older workers
- people recovering from drug and alcohol misuse
- ex-offenders
- maintaining mental wellbeing when working from home
- tips for recruiting
- supporting health and wellbeing.
