New guidance on the menopause at work

Acas has published new guidance to help both employers and workers manage the impact of the menopause at work. The guidance covers:
- Impact of the menopause on a worker, including what it is and what the symptoms can be
- Supporting a worker through the menopause, including making sure health and safety checks are suitable, developing a policy, training managers and carefully managing sickness absence or a dip in performance
- How the employer and worker can together find solutions, including knowing how to talk about the menopause and agreeing changes at work
- Menopause and the law, including the risks of sex, disability or age discrimination
- Managing colleagues of a worker being supported through the menopause
- Business reasons why an employer should handle the menopause sensitively
- Avoiding a claim being made to an employment tribunal.
