The LIBOR fund has been created from the fines imposed on banks for misdemeanours and attempted manipulation of financial markets. The fund is used to support Armed Forces and Emergency Services charities and other related good causes across the United Kingdom.

Organisations that have submitted applications, before the 25 August 2017 deadline, will be informed of the funding decision by the end of November.

In the last round of LIBOR funding announced last autumn, the Chancellor Phillip Hammond said that the government has committed a further £102 million of LIBOR banking fines to be distributed over the next 4 years. This included £20 million to support the
capital building costs of the new Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre at Stanford Hall in Nottinghamshire.
