The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has released a list naming and shaming 47 organisations that have failed to publish their 2018 gender pay gap figures. All employers with 250 or more employees are legally required to publish their gender pay gap figures both on their own websites and on the government’s official portal website. The deadline for doing so this year was 30 March 2019 for public sector employers and 4 April 2019 for private and voluntary sector employers.

All the organisations named have been advised that the EHRC is now commencing a formal investigation to determine if they are breaking the law by withholding their gender pay gap figures. If this is the case, they will be required to publish the figures immediately and, if uncooperative, they could also be issued with a formal notice and a possible unlimited fine.

The EHRC also recently named three organisations, including Typhoo Tea Ltd and Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Limited, who failed to report on time two years in a row. However, they have since reported.

10,753 organisations have reported their 2018 gender pay gaps.
