How will clients be affected by EU exit?

Accountants are not customs experts nor would they have the time to increase their skills to cope with the multitude of tasks that the UK’s exit from the EU has created.
It is interesting to note that there are no dramatic hold-ups at Channel crossings, not because the transition was seamless, but because the red-tape involved in moving goods between the UK and the EU has depressed activity. We are simply importing and exporting less.
However, if clients are asking for your support, there is a pretty comprehensive Brexit checker on the GOV.UK website. The link is: https://www.gov.uk/transition
The facility asks for a series of fairly straight-forward questions that require check box ticks and when completed produces a comprehensive to-do list of tasks that clients will need to consider.
Firms may not want to engage in the detail of using this facility, but they could advise clients that the facility is available.
And if you want to add another string to your services now you could complete the check list with a client and then write up an implementation report based on the list of tasks this creates.
