If you have been successful in helping a client achieve a desired outcome, say a successful business exit campaign, be sure that you consider asking said client if they would mind working with you to create a case study for your website and other marketing purposes. This should describe the issue or problem that was successfully dealt with, the planning options that were discussed, and the resolution process.
Case studies and testimonials offer prospects some evidence that what you say you can do is not based on hot air. They will make your business substantial.
It is unlikely that two case studies would ever convey the same facts, they are unique and because they are unique, they have value.
As an aside, if a client is willing to work with you to document a case study, there can be real spin-offs for the client. As part of the case study, you can showcase the client’s activities in such a way that your case study becomes a promotional device for clients.
Prospects reading your copy will effectively get two messages:
- Your successes, working with clients, and
- Details of a client that promote their services to the reader.
Clearly you will need to collaborate with clients to create case studies but there are few, if any, downside risks.
